A standalone, virtual attention test- no full evaluation required.

$295 | Licensed Psychologist | Available to All California Residents

Whether your psychiatrist needs a CPT before prescribing ADHD medication, or you want objective data about your attention before committing to a full evaluation, we make it simple.

Why people get a standalone CPT-3

Most of our CPT-3 clients come to us for one of two reasons:

Your psychiatrist asked for one before prescribing.

Many psychiatrists and nurse practitioners request objective attention testing — like the Conners CPT-3 or TOVA — before starting or adjusting ADHD medication. It's not a barrier; it's good clinical practice. We can get you that report quickly, affordably, and without requiring a full psychological evaluation.

You want real data before deciding on a full evaluation.

Maybe you've always suspected ADHD but aren't sure whether to invest in comprehensive testing yet. A CPT-3 gives you objective, computer-based attention data that can help answer the question: is something actually going on with my attention? It's a meaningful first step that can inform your next move — whatever that looks like.

What is the Connors CPT-3?

The Conners Continuous Performance Test, Third Edition (CPT-3) is a standardized, computer-based assessment that measures how your brain sustains and regulates attention over time. During the test, you respond to a series of letters appearing on screen — the task is deliberately designed to be repetitive and long enough to reveal attention patterns that self-report alone cannot capture.

The CPT-3 measures:

- Sustained attention — your ability to stay focused over time

- Impulsivity — how often you respond when you shouldn't

- Vigilance — how your attention holds up as the task continues

- Reaction time consistency — whether your response speed is stable or erratic

It takes approximately 14 minutes to complete and generates a detailed performance profile that compares your results to a normative sample of people your age.

The CPT-3 is one of the most widely used objective attention measures in the country and is specifically accepted by many psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and prescribers as documentation before initiating stimulant medication.

We also offer the *TOVA (Test of Variables of Attention)** — ask about availability during your consultation if your provider has specifically requested it.*

How It Works

Step 1 — Schedule your CPT-3 session

We’ll reach out to you to schedule your CPT-3 session after you purchase. If your psychiatrist has specific requirements, bring any notes or referral information so we can make sure your report meets their needs.

Step 2 — Virtual CPT-3 session

You complete the test on your own device from anywhere in California. The test itself takes about 14 minutes. Your evaluator will guide you through setup, explain what to expect, and be available for any questions.

Step 3 — Your results report

You receive a short written report with your full CPT-3 results, clinical interpretation, and a summary formatted for sharing with your prescriber. Most reports are delivered within a few business days of your testing session.

This is a great fit if you:

- Have been referred by a psychiatrist or prescriber who needs attention testing before starting medication

- Want objective attention data before deciding whether to pursue a full ADHD evaluation

- Have already been diagnosed with ADHD and need updated testing for a medication review

- Are an adult, college student, or teen (ages 8+) in California

This may not be enough if you:

- Need a formal ADHD diagnosis for school, workplace, or testing accommodations — a comprehensive evaluation is required for that

- Have a complex history involving trauma, learning differences, or autism that a single attention test won't capture

- Need documentation for the SAT, ACT, GRE, LSAT, MCAT, or college disability services

Is the CPT-3 right for you?

A note for psychiatrists and prescribers

We frequently work with psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and primary care providers across California who need objective attention data for their patients before initiating or adjusting stimulant medication.

Our CPT-3 reports are written with your workflow in mind — clear, concise, and structured for clinical handoff. We can typically see your patients within the same week and return a report within a few business days of testing.

If you'd like to establish a referral relationship or have questions about our reporting format, we'd love to connect.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the Conners CPT-3 and the TOVA?

1

Both the Conners CPT-3 and the TOVA (Test of Variables of Attention) are computer-based continuous performance tests that measure sustained attention and impulsivity. They differ in their format and the normative data they use, but both are widely accepted by psychiatrists and prescribers as objective attention measures. The CPT-3 is the test we offer by default. If your psychiatrist has specifically requested a TOVA, please reach out and we will let you know about current availability.

My psychiatrist asked for a "CPT" before prescribing — does this count?

2

Yes, in most cases. The Conners CPT-3 is one of the most commonly requested continuous performance tests by prescribers. We recommend bringing your psychiatrist's exact request so we can confirm our report will meet their specific requirements before you book.

Can I do this test from home?

3

Yes. The CPT-3 session is conducted entirely online. You will need a computer (not a phone or tablet) with a reliable internet connection. Your psychologist will walk you through setup before the test begins.

How long does the whole process take?

4

The CPT-3 itself takes approximately 14 minutes. Most clients are done with the full process in under an hour. Your written report is typically delivered within a few business days of your testing session.
